About
My Name is James and I am the Director of JIC&B. I am a qualified carpenter-joiner, and fully licensed builder.
After finishing a Bachelor of Arts from Sydney uni in 2003, I found myself at a cross roads. Further Study and specialise in something vocational, or, get a job labouring, and travel as much as I could. I chose the latter.
In 2004 I commenced a carpentry apprenticeship. Working with my hands was something that had always come naturally to me, and I enjoyed, so I dove in, I could go back to uni at any stage.
I completed my apprenticeship in 2006, and worked with some best builders in Sydney, working on some amazing projects around Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Lower North Shore and Eastern Suburbs.
Going out on my own as a carpenter joiner in 2008, I started moving more in the direction of design through build. Being based in the inner South of Sydney, much of our work involved heritage restoration, and builds that were sympathetic to their environment.
moving forward
By 2012 we had grown with a number of full time employees, other carpenters, apprentices and general labour. and were completing larger and larger jobs.
JIC&B was formed in 2016.
in 2016 JIC Pty Ltd (trading as JIC&B) received an unrestricted builders license.
We have worked on some amazing projects over the years, and more importantly had fantastic partnerships with some incredible clients.
And now…..
We work across a wide field of building including residential, renovations, commercial, and fit out.
We now offer a service throughout NSW and are moving into SE Queensland in the new year.
We look forward to working with you on your next project, be it large or small.
